Thanks And yes and no. Pixels for me as I explained before can also represent dream and other dimensions. But if you choose to, you could also make parallels with Tron-like universes. It would make some sort of sense, in away, especially if you believe we currently are inside the game.
Ah, I see. When I first heard that theory on Morgan Freeman's Through the Wormhole, my mind was BLOWN (but in more than one way . But those hills and sky in the background just remind me of the backdrops in some old school FPS games. Wasn't sure if you referenced/took inspiration from any. It's half way between realistic and cartoon.
Definitely! It's a little ridiculous sometimes but very entertaining. I Love space as well! Have you ever seen How The Universe Works on Science Channel? It was a good short series on the universe, and fairly new (I think 2011 if not 2012). It was visually stunning and engrossing, great music as well, and insightful. I really enjoyed it.
You have a beautiful, realistic style in these paintings and I find them intriguing. I was especially drawn to this one, because her facial features seem masculine. It seems like maybe she's making an expression like she's frustrated or something as well. I enjoy the mix of traits here. It's very visually interesting, which can't be said of all (maybe not even many) character focused pieces. I apologize if what I say is lacking in precise terminology. I'm not an artists. My formal training has dabbled in composition and aesthetic philosophy.
I also noticed the pixels and I'm curious about the meaning. It adds another dimension to be considered. Again, a very interesting piece. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks a lot for your comment Mikkousha It's rare people take time to write long art reviews these days! I'm glad you like this painting. It started with a vision of an angry woman in a dark/cold scene. All the rest came naturally. The pixels as well as the shapes are elements of design which I occasionally integrate to my paintings (there will be more of that in future pieces) as I dabble in the fields of fine arts and design. It also helps me to give a dreamy/unreal aspect to my paintings as I'm very interested in reality vs dream as well as other dimensions. Everything is a question of perception. Somewhere perhaps this woman is as real as you and I are for everything is possible
