The Greek Underworldby ~vervex

I thought it would be fun to post this :)

This is a school project - we had to design some kind of map and then print and fold it. Those are the two illustrations I did and used as a map. I decided to draw the Greek Underworld in two parts: Elysium and Eredus.

I usually don't draw environments so it was fun; I had to redraw Eredus like 3 times before I could get what I wanted! But when I really started, I didn't stop :) They are rather simple and comic-like but it was a nice experience. I wish I would have had more time to spent on them to refine them a bit more though.

Love the effects on the words, how'd you do that? Did you draw them yourself or use brushes?

The titles of Elysium and Erebus were made with Photoshop, and the flame/smoke was photomanipulation. All the rest is digital painting. :)
