I've always liked very much Severus Snape as a character.

This is a portrait of Snape, the dark and gloomy teenager he was at Hogwarts... the loner who comes from a broken home. Even though he was a brilliant student, his life took a wrong turn because he was hanging with the wrong crowd. And when he realized it, it was too late; he had lost the love of his life forever.

What I admire from Severus the most, I suppose, is how even after such unfortunate events took place, he never gave up and kept on doing the right thing, hidden in the shadows, taking no credit for his actions, and carrying the guilt of his previous life as a Death Eater as well as the hate and mistrust others had for him. He never wavered and protected Harry until the end.

Okay enough with the drama. This fanfiction telling the story between Snape and Lily is also quite good and although I'm not done reading it, you should give it a look. It inspired me to draw this gloomy portrait.
